Photo Exhibition “Welcome to the Illegal Dump”

The state of the environment globally, in Montenegro, and in our city is far from satisfactory. The situation is not improving as it should, considering that the condition of the environment directly affects our health. Air pollution from vehicles and the burning Mostina landfill, increasingly polluted rivers, and the proliferation of illegal dumpsites are just a few of the pressing issues. These dumpsites appear everywhere, even deep in forests and high in the mountains.

Exhibition of Illegal Dump Photographs

Trash is being discarded everywhere—in rivers, on riverbanks, at picnic areas, and even in cemeteries. Around and inside the park forest, visitors leave waste behind daily, despite knowing—or at least they should know—that if they want a clean and tidy park, they need to take their trash to the container at the park entrance. You may be wondering if there’s anything we can do for this park and the environment in general in the municipality of Rožaje.

You’ve probably heard someone in your community say: “What can you do? You’re just one person. Nothing will change if you don’t litter.”

This is why we have prepared the photo exhibition titled “Welcome to the Illegal Dump” as part of the project “For a Clean Brezovačko Brdo Park Forest.” This project was implemented within the framework of “For a Cleaner Montenegro” (PUMP) and funded by the French Ministry for European Affairs, carried out by Zero Waste Montenegro and the Environmental Protection Agency.

The exhibition aims to raise awareness about the impact of illegal dumping on the environment and to inspire individuals to take responsibility for keeping our shared spaces clean.
