Overview:
The project “For a Cleaner Brezovačko Brdo Park Forest” aimed to improve the cleanliness and sustainability of the Brezovačko Brdo park forest through a series of targeted activities. The project focused on addressing illegal waste, raising awareness about environmental conservation, and promoting responsible behavior among park visitors.
Key Activities:
- Cleanup Actions:
- Five mini cleanup campaigns were conducted to remove illegal dumps in and around the park forest.
- Restoration and repurposing of park furniture to promote reuse and sustainability.
- Educational Workshops for Children:
- Three outdoor workshops were held, focusing on:
- Waste pollution and sustainable practices.
- Zero waste best practices and responsible waste management.
- Conservation of protected areas, forest management, and composting techniques.
- Three outdoor workshops were held, focusing on:
- Awareness Campaign:
- Installation of an informational sign at the park entrance reading “TAKE YOUR TRASH WITH YOU”, encouraging visitors to leave no waste behind.
- Creation of a promotional video and a photography exhibition highlighting the importance of maintaining a clean and beautiful park.
- Surveys conducted to understand visitor habits and perspectives on waste management in the park.
Impact:
- Enhanced the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the Brezovačko Brdo park forest.
- Increased public awareness about sustainable practices and environmental responsibility.
- Engaged children and visitors in hands-on learning about waste management and nature conservation.
- Promoted community involvement in maintaining and preserving the park as a shared resource.
